Mrs. Jane (Ellis) Thompson, 63 years of Lynn, died on Wednesday, November 18, 2009 after a two and a half year battle with cancer. She is the wife of Mr. Graham G. Thompson. She was born in Manchester, England, the daughter of the late William and Mary (Swinn) Ellis. She was raised in Manchester and attended schools in Manchester. She also received her college degree while in England. She and her husband moved to Lynn in 1968 and have lived here since.
Jane was an avid gardener and was involved in the Massachusetts Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Cancer Society. She loved to bake and cook. She was a loving and caring companion for the late Gertrude Cunningham. Jane was a secretary for Dory Shoe and Florsheim Shoe. She also worked for Sears in their credit department and as a fashion model for Honey magazine.
In addition to her husband with whom she shared 44 years of marriage she leaves a son, William George Thompson of Lynn, a daughter Kimberly Jane Thompson and her companion Justin Candilieri of Lynn, three grandchildren, Mark, Kyle, and Rylee. She leaves a sister Susan Whittingham of Macclesfield, United Kingdom, a godson, Stuart Hemmings, USAF, Retired of Concord, NC, two lifelong friends, Millicent Dorrity of Lynn and Meredith Gray of Plaistow, NH. She also leaves several nieces, nephews and grand nieces and grand nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 11:00 AM in the Solimine, Landergan and Richardson Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rte 129) Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM . Jane received excellent care from All Care Hospice and would like donations be sent to them at All Care Hospice , 16 City Hall Square, Lynn, Massachusetts 01901.
